After defeating various droids and enemies, it is revealed that the protagonist is trapped inside of a game within the internet known as Cubic Revolution, and the protagonist begins plotting on how to escape the Internet for good. The protagonist is put up against more encounters against various forms of droids. After floating around inside the internet, the protagonist is found by a ship under attack by droids. After using virtual reality to fight "The Bug", the protagonist becomes trapped within the internet and becomes "The Bug".
The protagonist and survivor eventually reach a metropolis and discover the cause of the "square-ification", identified to be the result of an error in a game developers code. They eventually reach a location known as Hell Castle, where a dragon takes them to another world. After traveling to this different dimension, he meets an unnamed survivor who tags along with him across more areas throughout this world. The story of Pixel Gun 3D begins with the protagonist waking up early in the morning find zombies breaking into his house. Across each area in the game, the protagonist kills all monsters or soldiers that reside within the level, before defeating some sort of boss. The syno psis of Pixel Gun 3D is the sudden "square-ification" of the world and the outbreak of various monsters, in which an unnamed protagonist attempts to solve both mysteries by traveling from different worlds. The game's mechanics and graphics are similar to that of Minecraft. Players can join clans, obtain pets, customize their character and have different skins. In-game equipment can be purchased with coins earned from multiplayer battles. Multiplayer " Deathmatches" involve individual players fighting each other while "Team Fights" involve two teams.
It has two game modes: a single-player campaign mode against various monsters and a multiplayer mode that has players competing in a map to reach a set amount of kills. Pixel Gun 3D is a first-person shooter and battle royale game that has over 69 maps and 1,000 different types of weapons. A Steam port has been announced and is in the works. According to Cubic Games, the game had surpassed 100 million downloads by that time. It was developed by American studio Lightmap and published by Cyprus studio Cubic Games, with both being acquired by Nexters in January 2022.
